For SMB and mid-market teams, ChartHop is the most affordable way to get into workforce planning. The org chart with cost overlays lets you model what happens to your budget when you add or remove roles. If you need deep attrition analytics or TA pipeline reporting, you’ll need something else.

Workday
Workday is an enterprise HCM platform with analytics built in.
Pricing is quote-based and enterprise-scale. Advanced features like Workday Prism Analytics and Workday People Analytics may require additional licensing.
Workday’s workforce analytics cover headcount trends, distribution, hiring, turnover, compensation, absence, and DEI. Prism Analytics lets you bring external data into Workday for analysis that combines HR and financial data.

SAP SuccessFactors

According to their website (sap.com), pricing is quote-based. You request a quote based on your company size, modules, and deployment scope.
SAP SuccessFactors Workforce Analytics covers workforce metrics like headcount, turnover, and composition. It also includes talent analytics for recruiting and retention, plus standard and custom reports.
The platform integrates with SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central as the core HRIS, but also connects to other systems.
SAP SuccessFactors makes sense if you’re already in the SAP ecosystem. The analytics module adds workforce reporting on top of your existing HR data. If you’re not already using SAP, the implementation scope is heavy for a standalone analytics play.

Workday (for Attrition)
Workday’s attrition analytics are part of its core HCM platform.
You get turnover reports, absence analytics, and predictive attrition risk models. The data comes from your Workday HRIS, which means it’s always current.
For enterprise teams already on Workday, the attrition analytics are included in your platform. You don’t need a separate tool unless you want deeper prediction than what Workday offers out of the box.
Skills Gap and Talent Mobility Analytics Tools
Skills analytics answers: What skills do we have? Where are the gaps? Who can move into new roles? This kind of visibility connects directly to improving employee retention through skill development programs.
This is a newer category. Most HRIS platforms don’t do this well.

SAP SuccessFactors (for Skills)
SAP SuccessFactors includes talent management modules that cover performance, learning, and career development.

For enterprise teams already on SAP, this is a natural extension. For smaller teams, the complexity of implementing SAP just for skills analytics doesn’t make sense.

UKG Pro’s analytics include workforce composition, pay equity reporting, diversity metrics, and labor cost trends. The platform combines HR, payroll, and time data, which means your pay equity analysis draws from actual payroll transactions.
UKG Pro fits mid-market teams that want DEI and pay equity analytics connected to their payroll data. If you’re already using UKG for payroll, adding the analytics module gives you compensation insights without a separate tool.

Oracle HCM Cloud
Oracle HCM Cloud is an enterprise HCM platform with embedded AI and analytics.
Pricing is quote-based and depends on HCM Cloud edition and modules.
Oracle’s analytics include People Intelligence for workforce diversity and attrition mitigation, Workforce Operations Command Center for scheduling and absence analytics, and Oracle Fusion HCM Analytics for broader workforce reporting.

For teams that need rigorous pay equity audits, Visier’s compensation module is built for this. It handles the complexity of multi-region, multi-entity pay analysis that most HRIS platforms can’t manage.
When to Build Your Own Workforce Analytics With BI Tools
Sometimes the best workforce analytics tool isn’t an HR tool at all. It’s a business intelligence platform like Power BI or Tableau.
Power BI
Power BI is Microsoft’s business intelligence platform.
According to a Microsoft announcement on their Fabric Community blog (November 2024), Power BI Pro costs $14 per user per month as of April 2025.

Tableau
Tableau is a data visualization platform owned by Salesforce.

Tableau connects to the same data sources as Power BI. You build visual dashboards for workforce metrics like attrition, hiring, and diversity.
Tableau’s visualizations are generally considered more polished than Power BI’s. But Tableau is more expensive, and like Power BI, you’re building everything from scratch.

BI tools give you total flexibility. You can build any dashboard, track any metric, and combine any data sources. This is the core promise of data-driven recruiting and how to use it for smarter hiring too.
